This record of events was established in 2005 when our three person family was residing cozily in a downtown Tokyo studio. We have since grown to five members and after many wonderful years in the suburbs of Chicago, we've returned to Tokyo. My husband and I both work full time; my name is Jamie and I'm the author of this blog!

Not So Special
Just the other day I was thinking that I must be the only person in the world with my name. But I guess I was wrong....looks like I'm one of two?
Well, I checked out my name and Dave's name. 46 of me and 1600 of him. So I decided to look up my maiden name. It "officially" told me that there we NO people is the Us with my maiden last name. Sorry Dad's ENTIRE family, you don't exist. Go figure! Jenny
Shanel, you would be the only you even if there was another someone out there named Shanel...but I'm kind of glad to hear there isn't. :-)
Sam, I agree, that 0.33% is worrying, isn't it?!
Jenny, Usselman is a fine name whether some beta website recognizes it or not. If it makes you feel any better, according to them, Aogu, Koji and Izumi also don't exist!
Cheryl Lynn, I wouldn't totally discount your originality/creativity. Seven other people with the same name out of 300 million is doing pretty well in the "unusual" department, I think.
374,961 Janes. I guess that is what you get when you have a school teacher for a Dad and he was DETERMINED to name his children something that school teachers would be able to pronounce and get it right. Thus we are Jane, Ken and Sam. 113,988 Lucases. Some of our famous relatives are George Lucas, Jerry Lucas, Josh Lucas and Maurice Lucas.

Right, there's 6 of me, but it tells me that 99.67% of all people with the name Samuel are male. Hmmm....
