I vividly remember lovely zoo expeditions, doing just as much as I and the kids had energy for, gulping in the fresh air and sunshine, and feeling somehow not so lonely with Steve gone, surrounded by other people in all sorts of combinations. The kids always got fascinated by something, and sometimes it was as simple as climbing upon and standing tall on a rock bordering the sidewalk!
